Sales: Still All About the Bottom Line

Minneapolis, MN, April 26, 2005 - Copier Careers, a Minneapolis based niche recruiting firm serving the Document Imaging Industry for over 20 years, just published their fourth Sales Manager Salary Survey. Bottom line: sales managers are still enticed by higher compensation and hungry to make more money. This should make dealerships take notice that their sales manager might not be around much longer.

Sales managers in the Copier Industry reported in our annual survey that although salaries have increased, so have territories and responsibilities, resulting in a longer workweek and more stress. A big challenge facing management is the need to recruit the right people - and that has proven difficult for dealerships. Plus, many managers stated major sources of stress are roadblocks put up by management and the lack of knowledge and installation of technology solutions. Also adding to the stress is the fact that many employees lack the respect for owners that needs to prevail in order to run a successful dealership.

Sales managers indicated in both the 2004 and 2005 surveys that they are looking for other opportunities - both in and out of the industry. Since 91% of sales managers identify bonus opportunities as the most important aspect of the job, the effect of the belt-tightening is apparent in this area. Even though employers tend to overlook this effect due to the increased salaries, this should put some fear in them about the stability of their sales staff. Visit www.copiercareers.com/survey for the entire salary survey study to learn more.

Sales managers answered this survey online anonymously. They just logged on to CopierCareers.com and answered a series of questions related to their particular job description. Copier Careers then compares results from last year's study and industry expert Scott Cullen writes and publishes the survey in ENX magazine.

Copier Careers is committed to the industry and they are the only search firm you can retain that's solely dedicated to the staffing needs of Independent Copier Dealerships.
